So much to learn... So little time...
I believe the best way for children to learn is by DOING! We spend our class time playing learning games, reading and sharing stories, making connections. We don't spend a lot of time on worksheets except as a review. Students are graded on participation in activities along with some written assignments. Parents can check individual progress on the district Gradebook site. Because students are expected to work hard in class every day, expected homework is minimal. They need to practice reading for at least 25 minutes every day, practice math facts, and practice spelling words. Some suggestions for making these activities more fun at home are available.
Please record daily reading minutes and initials on the weekly homework page and return it to school every Monday.
